Donna Dupont is the Founder and Chief Strategist in Foresight & Design for Purple Compass.
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist during the SARS crisis, Donna witnessed firsthand the risks and challenges faced by the health system to emerging infectious disease threats. This experience was a professional turning point and led to her further work in policy development, strategic planning and emergency management.
Donna has held several roles within Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in healthcare and emergency management. She is the recipient of several government awards at the provincial and federal level for her policy and planning work including, the design and implementation of Healthy Smiles Ontario, team awards for the H1N1 response, Ontario’s Ebola Action Plan, Syrian refugee resettlement and radiological/nuclear medical emergency preparedness and response.
Donna’s interests are at the intersection between climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and sustainable development. Her aim is to collaborate with communities and organizations, and use strategic foresight and design methods to anticipate future challenges, and support innovative solutions to strengthen local capacity, public health, safety and security.
